The Ludlow Arms is a really friendly place to be, and we genuinely want you to enjoy yourself everytime you visit, anytime you visit. Any of you as old as the landlord will probably remember the list of do’s and don’ts that Blackpool landladies used to have (may still have!) on the back of the bedroom doors! We are really nice people, and don’t want to go that far, but a few things said now may save us all problems at a later date.
Children: This is a family owned and run pub, and so children are welcome to accompany their parents every day, until 7pm. If you are enjoying a family meal, we can stretch things a little to accomodate. Apart from this, we are old fashioned enough to believe that pubs in the evening are strictly for over 18’s. We know that you can legally bring a 14 year old into a pub later in the evening, but frankly, even the T.V companies operate a watershed, for good reason!
Security: Even in a super little market town like Westbury, there are a small proportion of idiots. If you are here to enjoy yourself, in a friendly and lively weekend night atmosphere, our first priority is for you to feel safe. We employ doorstaff on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, to ensure that you do. We are not very tolerant of people who break the rules, and endanger other people’s safety. If you are looking for a rough pub, please look elsewhere! If you are fortunate enough to look particularly youthful, you will be asked for I.D. on the door. Photo I.D. is essential.
Drugs: Don’t use them here, don’t bring them here, don’t sell them here. We work closely with the Wiltshire Constabulary, because it is an unfortunate reality that drugs have become an endemic part of society. It is not our place to decide on your lifestyle, but it is our place to ensure that it is NOT a part of your lifestyle HERE!
Dogs: Dogs and children fall into the same category. Keep them on a short lead, don’t let them mess the place up, take them home when it’s obvious it’s too busy, and everyone’s happy!
